Georgia activists trek to Wisconsin in advance of recall election
A contingent of Georgia college students, travelling on behalf of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, are currently en route to Wisconsin to aid in an activism effort ahead of Tuesday’s controversial recall election. The group, described as a “conservative public policy organization,” is headed up by former Christian Coalition Chairman and University of Georgia graduate Ralph Reed.
“We are excited about the opportunity to take part in what will surely be an historic election,” Ashley Williams, one of the volunteers, told Tipsheet in an email. The Faith and Freedom Coalition, which does not endorse candidates, is making a push to educate Wisconsin voters on the stances of both Governor Walker and Mayor Barret on issues related to taxes, government spending and abortion.
