With the breakneck pace of Georgia’s 9th congressional district runoff showing no signs of easing, Martha Zoller has announced another endorsement. This time, former Pennsylvania Senator and presidential candidate Rick Santorum.

An early-morning tweet from the former Senator’s account had this to say:

The news comes on the heels of Zoller receiving endorsements from Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich, who finds himself at odds with his presidential bid’s former national chairman, Zell Miller.

Collins campaign spox Loree Anne Thompson issued this response:

“Doug’s just a country boy from North Georgia who doesn’t have all of these national contacts. We look forward to this runoff and communicating our consistent conservative message to North Georgia voters.”

For his part, Collins has notched the aforementioned backing of former Senator Miller, along with Georgia House Speaker David Ralston and a slew of locally elected officials.
