Missouri Republican Todd Akin has become so politically radioactive in the days since he claimed “legitimate rape” rarely results in pregnancies that even shared consulting ties between his campaign and unaffiliated bids elsewhere in the country, like the Republican race to challenge Democratic Rep. John Barrow, have become liabilities.

Republican congressional hopeful Rick Allen said in a Monday statement that the campaign of rival Lee Anderson shared an advertising nucleus with Akin’s operation.

After cheering that Anderson’s most recent television spot had been pulled, the release read: “Anderson’s Media Consultants, Ohio-based Strategy Group for Media, also produced the television advertisements for disgraced U.S. Senate Candidate Todd Akin, according to Federal Election Commission reports dated July 12, 2012.”
