Barrow forswears statewide run

John Barrow

Democratic Congressman John Barrow has already stifled any rumors that he may have his eyes on a promotion.

Barrow, fresh off yet again proving himself a wily political survivor, has apparently been approached by various Democrats about challenging either Governor Nathan Deal or Senator Saxby Chambliss. The AJC’s Jim Galloway reported yesterday that Barrow has already vetoed both.

“I have no interest in running against Saxby Chambliss or the governor. I’m sticking with my job. It’s the best job I’ve ever had and it’s the only job I want to have,” stated the twelfth congressional district’s representative.

Not only that, but Barrow has already begun staffing up for what will surely be a hard-fought re-election bid in 2014. Yesterday evening, an email came featuring a link to an advertisement regarding open staff positions.
